The General Statistics Office (GSO) said international visitor arrivals to Vietnam in January 2012 reached 630,000, representing a year on year rise of 24 percent
Specifically, 365,000 visitors came to Vietnam for leisure purposes, up 21.6 percent; 110,000 visitors arrived in Vietnam for business purposes, up 61.9 percent, and 120,000 visitors visited relatives, up 15.3 percent.
China took the lead with 147,700 arrivals, up 93.4 percent, followed by South Korea with 60,000 visitors (17 percent), the United States with 59,300 visitors (26.8 percent), Japan with 56,900 visitors (26.2 percent), Taiwan with 43,500 visitors (65.3 percent), Cambodia with 42,000 visitors (95 percent), and France with 25,300 visitors (33.3 percent)
