Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, a sacred site in the northern province of Cao Bang
TITC – Located in Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province, Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda is the first pagoda ever built in the northern province of Viet Nam.
Inaugurated on 15th December 2014, the pagoda was constructed on total area of 3ha, leaning against Phia Nham Mountain, 500m from Ban Gioc Waterfall. From the pagoda, visitors could overlook the whole Ban Gioc Waterfall wrapped in paddy fields and mountain range.
The
pagoda was designed in traditional Vietnamese architecture style, made
by iron-wood, traditional teracotta tiles and old-fashioned gables or
Vietnamese character paralled sentences. The pagoda has three-door gate,
Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s Statue, three realms hall, ancestral
temple, Holy Mother temple dedicated to Lady Trieu and Hung Kings, Saint
Tran Hung Dao, the Eden, Alahat Statue Garden, temple worship Hero Nung
Tri Cao who had great merit in defending the northern border of Viet
Nam. The highlight of the temple is the Thien Bao bell tower with the
bronze bell weighted 1.5 ton.
